Unfortunately Season 2 of Highschool of the Dead was not released on September 5, 2011, as many rumors stated it would be. The exact date of Season 2′s release is still unknown, but at least we know there will in fact be a Season 2.
This was answered at Anime EXPO 2011 at the H.O.T.D panel Q/A’s. See the video of the question and answer yourself below.

Is it just me or are almost all of these posts fans posting about the fact that they are sick of waiting and saying they should hurry the fuck up. They are acting like they are the only thing that matters in this fucking world. Also, if this anime ever comes out, it’ll come out in Japan sometime in 2014 if we are lucky. It’ll be dubbed by 2015 at the least and 2016 at the latest. It’ll be out in over a year, if it’s out at all. So quit your complaining about how they won’t make it, people have lives you know. It would be great to see a second season, but i don’t see that happening any time soon.

I hope you are right Jerome, but a release in 2013 seems way too soon. Here is why:
Given Daisuke Sato’s track record of going on hiatus, Madhouse (If they do season 2) would be crazy to even start working on HOTD 2 until there is enough manga for 12 anime episodes.
Season 1 was created from 600 pages of manga (16 acts merged into 12 anime episodes). If they were to use the 24 pages from act 13 that was skipped, adding it to acts 18-29 that already exist. That only gets us about 420 pages. 420 pages is well short of the 600 needed for season 2. They need 5 or 6 more manga acts to get to the 600 pages needed. If we see new manga every other month it could take another year before they start working on season 2. That would put a season 2 release for Japan in the summer of 2014.
From the Daisuke Sato interview printed in last months Dragon Age HOTD addendum, it sounds like Act 30 is written and preparing for publication. However, FujimiShobo has just pulled down the link to HOTD so I suspect it will not be in this months issue of Dragon Age, so maybe it will start back up in June or July. That will make it hard to get enough manga done by the end of the year unless they publish it monthly, and from what I’ve seen that is really optimistic.
Once season 2 is green lit, it will probably take 5 months to complete it. People in Japan will then enjoy it, and maybe the rest of us through online subtitled streaming. But it will be another year after that, unless it is rushed, before it shows up on Netflix and Bluray/DVD in the U.S.
Personally, I think I’ll be watching it in the Summer of 2015. Dubbed with the same voice actors Sentai Filmworks used for season 1. I’m GUESSING that will then be the end of HOTD, it sounds like Daisuke Sato may simply be planning to wrap the story up.

Based on season 1; It will take apx 5 months to produce season 2. So if season 2 ever does get officially announced, expect it to come out in Japan 5 months after that. This is why people who say it is coming out next month, or whatever, are almost certainly wrong.
Season 1 was announced in Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Age magazine the first part of Feb 2010. Lets hope there is a similar announcement in the next issue of Dragon Age. At the 3 year anniversary.

Season 2 only exists in your minds eye when you read the continuing manga. The full color volumes 5-7, which pick up at the mall, will be released later this year. The B/W version are available now.

Unfortunately there still isn’t enough manga complete to create season 2 of the anime, so if it ever does happen, we will be waiting.
Although there are some exceptions, the anime follows the manga nearly shot for shot.
I am seriously hoping HOTD gets released this year. Its just amazing and i dont know how and why people wouldnt like it. Apparently it didnt sell so good in Japan but everywhere else it did. Guess they dont like Zombies very well cause they arent like Kore wa Zombie or another anime with a hot zombie girl. BUT COMON!! this is like a super ONLY ZOMBIE anime there is! and it has bouncing boobies, weapons and guns, killing with blood and murder, and hot women! not to mention a great story that deserves more than just 1 season, hell even more than just that! comon Sato! dont take so much time on Triage X and thinking about weapons. HOTD must be made so i can instantly buy the dvd and watch it over and over!! that way, i can go back to season 1 if i miss it ^-^
Highschool of the dead season 2 isn’t scheduled to be out until around the end of September to mid November is what I heard at least. I’m not entirely sure if it’s true but ther was a selling of it on blu-ray in HD for DVD yesterday at target but they ran out almost emidietly when they started selling it. They said it was a one day only thing because they didn’t like having stuff like that in their stores.

We’re ALL sick of waiting. In Chapter 31 of Triage X, Shoji Sato decided to tease us by drawing corpses that looked a lot “Them”. He MUST know that we’re still waiting.
To be perfectly honest, I’d rather see a well-thought-out Chapter 30 than a botched Season 2 with non-canon filler.

There was only one OVA and that was back when Madhouse and Fujimishobo thought Daisuke and Shouji were going to create more manga. But they didn’t make more (no one has said why) and then it all stopped. Just like that, it all ended.

Its a not a good sign when a second season is getting delayed too much but then again there wasnt enough material for a while either.
Sales always dictates a lot when a second season is made or not plus the noise the fans make on the matter.

You do realize that ‘they’ haven’t been doing all that much over the last 2 years. So even though all this time has gone by, it will have no bearing on how many episodes are released, if any. As far as the story goes, actually buy, then read the continuing manga. Its complete through chapter 29 and you’ll have an idea of how good its going to be. In my opinion, what we have seen already, is better than what is to come. As far as the quality of the anime goes, this one is top notch. And since it apparently did so poorly in Japan, some might say the suspected high cost of production is part of the reason there isn’t a season 2. But who knows.
Takashi better get laid this season. Cut the poor bastard a break!

Japan HOTD BD+DVD sales as of Nov 2010 was apx 8,000 units. Don’t know how reliable this number is but it does indicate it probably made enough money to warrant a second season, or is at least getting close.
Given what Shoji Sato said at AnimagiC this year and appears to be doing by keeping HOTD somewhat alive with his art book. We can assume he is on board for more. So … is Daisuke Sato (the writer) the hold up? From the Japanese WiKi about him he seems to start a lot of projects and doesn’t finish them. And if he holds the rights he may not want anyone else doing it without him, even if he is dragging his feet. Nothing I can find on the Internet about what he is doing now, I’m just guessing he isn’t working on it. Hope I’m wrong.

I’m going to jizz in my pants when the new season comes out, I haven’t anticipated anything this much, I want this more than I wanted Battlefield 3, and I was up for 3 days playing the stupid thing. If they cancel the second season I thin I might die.
season two will be aired to America hopefully in english this fall or next, i mean i dont blame Kadokawa for taking their time. I mean for one the CEO already has alot to concern himself with and its very difficult to make such a high quality anime and they also need to translate and probably mess with the show completly so the words match their mouths properly its a VERY difficult task. Lastly they must script out the major plot line to create more life like decisions the characters make based on their role. So either way Kadokawa is pretty short handed when they have so many anime’s to work with and now their entering the gaming buisness too the CEO is taking some risks so we must be pateint we’ll get our share eventually

As I understand it Kadokawa doesn’t publish the HOTD manga anymore, Fujimi Shobo had it last. And Madhouse actually made the anime, so wouldn’t your comments need to be in relation to them? Or am I missing something here?

When someone can show me that Daisuke Satō hasn’t actually given up on HOTD and is actually writing more, I may actually believe a season 2 within a year. But right now it don’t look that way to me.

In my opinion, it is unlikely the anime will continue until more of the manga is completed so it can follow the story laid out by the manga. Not that it wouldn’t be possible for a season 2 to happen first, just unlikely.
Some anime does deviate quite a bit from the manga that inspired it, but HOTD has been fairly faithful to the manga. With some notable exceptions being how the anime skipped over act 13 in the manga. Changed how and when Takashi and Saeko split with the group, and how they end up with the 6 wheel amphibious ATV.

Already a year has passed since i watched HOTD first season, or was it 2 years already ? yes, 2 years have passed since i saw 1 season and still nothing, why does it takes so long ? financial problems ? sick people ? this is getting unreasonable, if i could understand Kanji writing style, then there won’t be a problem finding the reason for this waiting. HOTD2 has never been announced by anyone actually working on it or with the authority to produce it. Just this one guy, apparently from Madhouse, who simply gave people what they wanted with his quantified answer. Its human nature to hear only what you want from it but he didn’t actually confirm anything. If you stop listening after the translated “Well, definitely yes” then you run off all happy thinking its going to happen, but miss the meat of it … “Provided we have everyone’s support”. Well I hate to break it to ya, appears they don’t have it, at least not yet.
I can think of no reason to keep the production of HOTD a secret, yet there is no mention of it on madhouse.co.jp. Or on the real official web site. http://www.geneonuniversal.jp/rondorobe/anime/hotd/ or in the magazine the manga is published. BTW: None of them will return my emails asking about HOTD 2.
The only person even occasionally talking about HOTD is Shoji Sato, and that’s only in relation to his new art book. Anyone know what is up with Daisuke Sato? My gut tells me he is the key, we need the writer to get on board.

I was just in japan and all the japanese love HOTD and are also wondering wtf is going on.
How did HOTD do in the Japan TV rankings? Was it a flop in Japan? Is that maybe why there is no season 2. Low Nielsen ratings sure kills off shows in the US. Regardless of how good we may think it is.

According to the Highschool of the Dead episodes WiKi, it aired originally in Japan on July 5, 2010. Then weekly for the next 12 weeks. Comparing those dates to the Japan animation tv rankings published but Anime News Network (Which they get from Video Research, a Nielsen like service in Japan). I find that HOTD doesn’t even appear on the charts, not anywhere. Even those ‘extra’ lower rankings provided by others on the forum.
Granted, it would be more conclusive if HOTD would at least be listed, but if it really was a bust, as I’ve seen claimed by unsubstantiated sources, this could be the reason it appears the show it self has been left for dead.

Its confusing to me too why the anime apparently did so poorly. The manga sales seem to have been pretty good and really negate that off the cuff comment made by the rushed panel at Comic Con 2011. The formula seems to follow many other successful anime but with the zombi twist, which only makes it better.
There are actually lots of Japanese zombi films, none that I’ve seen with the production values of US films like Resident Evil. But they are there. Some of them are pretty weird. And all are full of massive arterial spray!
The anime industry is really suffering right now and the horrible earthquake/tsunami made it worse. Revenue has been declining for quite a few years now, along with revenue from anime related merchandise. All the so called fans, who steal the content by streaming or downloading really are not helping. Studios are less likely to go out on a limb and produce titles like HOTD, with its high production values, that don’t appear to be able to provide a profit.
Lets hope Japan gets their electrical power issues resolved soon, that the anime industry starts to recover, and fans actually start to pay for what they watch or read, so the industry can survive.
I guess its possible the popularity of HOTD outside Japan will drive Madhouse to produce a second season, HOTD is still finding its way to more and more countries.
I can’t imagine the ecchiness (if thats a word) had anything to do with it not being renewed for a second season. Popular anime like Queens Blade, in its 3rd season make HOTD seem tame. And have you seen the recent title Sentai Fimworks just licensed, Qwaser of Stigmata? Warriors getting their power by drinking breast milk from their companions. LOL! Talk about Ecchi. There are 20 something episodes in that anime.
Even though it really looks grim for a season 2, I still hold out hope Shoji Sato will give us some good news in a couple weeks, he still seems to care about HOTD.

And just to pass by an Anime on Netflix called High school of the Dead, with 2 girls on the screen, i clicked it and i read the info, it had fucking zombies. so i watched it, each part i had goosebumps, beginning when Takashi was talking, then the zombies appeared, then they were running, then ooh Rei ;D. and u know wut i said in the beginning? “it may be animation, but i can fucking care less right now.” cause it has zombies, hot women, ecchi!! (which i didnt knew that time.) and well holy crap guns. the story is fucking amazing, i love the characters, Saeko especially, and shit, im waiting and abt to flip tables, but all we can do is wait. ^_^ HOTD TRUE FAN! Regarding that talk about the anime being too ecchi. People should stop repeating that unless they can provide a reputable source. Its most likely just a repeated rumor.
The manga is just as sexy if not more so than the anime, especially given that most of the girls are minors (at least in the US) and in the manga they all show nipple, while in the anime only the adult in the group does.
Shouji Sato, the manga illustrator, also does hentai under a pen name, why would he care how sexy it is.
In any case, HOTD is ecchi but in no way is it hentai or even close.

Although its not full of zombies and e cups, ELFEN LIED is a violent, bloody, ecchi, horror thriller. It may work for you. And its available on many streaming services.
If its those bouncing e cups that make HOTD great for you, give Sekirei, Queens Blade or Ikki Tousen a shot.
If its the high school harem aspect that you like, Rosario + Vampire might be a good choice.
If you’re ready for a more heart wrenching story, watch Clannad and then the much better Clannad After Story.

You guys need to chill. A good anime takes time to create and if it’s been in production the whole time, Season 2 should be well thought out already.
But what I want is for the anime to stick with the manga, I’ll be in shock if different people wrote it other than the authors.. It won’t be the same.
Much anticipation is in this anime, and I think it will be well worth the wait. All advice I can give you now is to take your minds off it and try other series. There are plenty more out there that’s just as good as High School of the Dead. After all, this was the one that got me into watching anime in the first place.

This anime in awesome, epic, super(and all the other badass adjectives out there combined). I love it. I’ve just watched it this year and when i finished the first episode, i was regretting that i only had 11 more to go. Hope season 2 realy comes out this fall.

HOTD is one of my favorite animes. i spend alot of my down time watching anime and writing reviews on pages such as this. i would give HOTD a 5 star rating. its a great action/romance/horror show. im sure if you wanted you could find more than those three to classify it but im trying to keep it simple. i am holding season 2 to great heights and cannot wait for it to hit screens in america or in japan with english subs.

I doubt the season 2 will come out this year. I highly doubt it. It’s halfway through the year, and there has been zero announcements from Madhouse (the producers of the anime) about anything related to HOTD. Plus, there has been no news from the manga creators since April 2011.

So there’s been a lot of rumors floating around that HOTD season 2 or chapter 30 is coming out this fall 2012. Don’t fall for those RUMORS. There were SO many rumors in 2011 about those same things, and they never happened. Not a SINGLE reputable anime news source (even Madhouse themselves, the animators of the series) have even a paragraph of news about HOTD since April of 2011. There is no news out of Japan about anything new about HOTD besides an ARTBOOK coming out in august/fall 2012 that is supposed to have some news pics of HOTD and TriageX (the new manga one of the Sato brothers is working on at the moment).
I was hopeful earlier in the year that some new HOTD material (either season 2 or chapter 30) would be released this year, but now I’m worrying. Usually before a new release after a hiatus, there is usually an announcement ahead of time that talks about new material coming out in order to hype fans. There is nothing like that yet. It’s already June 2012. There’s only 6 more months left of this year.
I mean, there hasn’t even been a single MANGA chapter out since april 2011. This hiatus is almost looking like a permanent halt. I really fucking hope not because this is my favorite manga and anime franchise.
There is NO news from Madhouse or the manga authors (the Satos). All the rumors floating around are false rumors originating from internet trolls and general mass confusion and misunderstanding. Until reputable sources definitively state that season 2 or chapter 30 is going to be coming out, then hold onto your balls chaps. It’s going to be a long wait. Perhaps one that is for an eternity.

Incase you guys didnt know. There is a little message at the end of the OVA episode where Alice is talking. She says “To be continued.” Thats all we need to know we will have a season 2. Guys, dont fret about it. A season 2 is coming, i dont know when, but it will come soon. So dont complain, dont cry about how long its taking, dont worry about it. it is coming soon and the best things are worth waiting for. So to bring it all together, THERE WILL BE A SEASON 2!
Yea, saw that. Read all the continuing manga, which never really ends. Watched them promise more in the attached video. Even fell for the April fools joke (for a few seconds) this year. Got all excited but … none of that means its going to happen any time soon, if at all.
At the very least its still a year a way, at least anywhere but Japan. Money talks and the writers current interests appear to be somewhere else. Daisuke Satō is not currently interested or being paid enough to do it now. Shōji Satō may want to illustrate it but its not completely within his control. At least that is what the evidence suggests.
Don’t get me wrong I would enjoy season 2 as much as the next guy/gal. But some real proof that its being worked on is required to get me to beleive it will happen. Anyone have that, please post it.

I readed something about the two creators of the manga, they are brothers, Daisuke Sato, is the real creator,and Shojui Sato, so, he is now working in a videogame, Yakuza 3 for PS3, and another manga, “TriggerX”, Shouji want´s to continue the anime and the manga, but Daisuke doesn´t want give him the fucking liscence, so the proyect is stopped, we only have to wait Daisuke ends the videogame to hav time to back to HOTD, and everybody know the time to do that is about 3 or 4 years…
So, the ways are(I think)
1: Wait the end of the videogame.After it Daisuke goes to have time for HOTD.
2: Daisuke accepts the request of his brother, so Shojui continue the manga in place of his brother.

Now that he is part of a video game studio, I suspect he has moved on from manga and HOTD. I will agree with you on this. The problem is it is currently dropped because it was licensed. The only way to get more mangas and more episodes is to get a large fan group of 100,000 or more. That way it can get back up and running soon. Trying to send a message to Yen Press is not and easy thing to done on their site. You have to publicize the problem, but many women have talked out about the shows and manga causing other problems.

The manga has to go further before there is a season 2. Last time I check, Shouji Sato is doing a different series called Triage X while Highschool of the Dead is on hiatus. Daisuke Sato, the writer, was working on a video game called Binary Domain that released Feb. 16, 2012. The famous Youtube video of them saying if they have the everyone’s support, they will make a 2nd season.(Regarding that statement meant fans or publishers etc. etc.)So I thought to myself (I heard that it didn’t do that well in Japan.)that I would look at the sells in North America and Japan. While finding nothing on North American sells I did find this. It’s on Wiki and it isn’t a reliable source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highschool_of_the_Dead but it says that Vol. 6 sold a total of 135,734 copies and Vol. 7 sold a total of 206,532 copies in Japan. In North America, the 2nd Vol. stayed in the top 10 from April 24 til May 14. NOTE- That isn’t including the other 5 Volumes in Japan nor in the U.S.
The manga has to go further before there is a season 2. Last time I check, Shouji Sato is doing a different series called Triage X while Highschool of the Dead is on hiatus. Daisuke Sato, the writer, was working on a video game called Binary Domain that released Feb. 16, 2012. listen guys first of all rei must be in love with takashi not saeko because if you watch all the chapters manga you ‘ll see that takashi kissed rei and didn’t kissed saeko and creators edit the series to makes us think that saeko and takashi can love each other but in tha manga chapters didn’t do it
And second of all this season 2 ‘ll be in a big mall like the 28 and 29 chapters says so we just must not care about season 2 more than the anime chapters

I have seen all 12 episodes of hotd and i really liked it. After i have seen all 12 episode i started to look for episode 13,14….. but i didn’t find eny so i started to look for informasjon about season 2 and i was disappointed becouse i found out that where isn’t eny seasion 2. But now i am litt confused i have seen the comix version of seasion 2, so why is where no video about it. I mean if they have made the comix about seasion 2 why can’t they make videos about it, does it cost so much? honestly there are probably so many different variables going on right now that the creators cant afford to give any exact information. i know the entertainment industry and there’s a 1,000 people doing a 1,000 different things. don’t worry they want to advertise their show as soon as they can… they will. were just gonna have to watch season 1 again until thy decide its time to tell everyone.
There is little to no chance season 2 will be out this fall. Unless the Sato brothers are working on this in top secret. There is nothing online to suggest there is any work being done on future manga or for that matter a season 2 anime, which normally comes after the manga.

HSOTD IS AWESOME and I egarly await season 2 hopefully the wait makes the show that much better. PS if you like HSOTD you may also like Elfin Lied there arnt zombies but it may be equally as violent if not more. Its a good show to watch while waiting( EGARLY ) for season 2 of HSOTD . Hold in there hopefully the show will resume in fall(2012) like those other guys said.

I love HOTD so much i could cry lol. This is the best zombie-anime combo I have ever seen. I want to also see a version of HOTD in xbox and/or ps3 gaming. It can in no way be a failure I could guarantee that. And it could start right from the beginning (if somehow the person purchasing the game did not now of the HOTD series) which have made most games very successful. Ok, I have to admit, this show was probably one of the most amazing shows i have seen in a very, very long time… I happened to be watching and reading Dance in the Vampire Bund around the same time me and some friends happen to finish HTOD. They both Ranked WAYYYYY up on my list of Awesome!! Anyhow, i had given up on a season 2, but am now revived due to hearing that season 2 is on its way!!! I can’t flippin wait!!! I was telling one of my friends about how the ecchi issue has possibly delayed the second season from releasing earlier than it could have and all he said was,”It’s not like we haven’t seen more than what was in episode 6 of the show, i mean look at Girls Bravo, it showed almost everything and everyone we showed loved that show!” I agreed completely! Not to mention, secretly, i have always wanted to see the main character actually develope a meaningful relationship that eventually led to something intimate, but in a way that was tasteful and deepened the connection between them. I mean it is done in movies these day all of the time and not deemed porn, but as soon as you put a sexual scene in an anime, it’s automatically deemed a hentai. Annoying as crap in my opinion! I mean today’s populace has already been exposed to much more than what this show could possibly deem as too mature or too ecchi… Oh well, bottom line, don’t worry so much, American anime fans aren’t worried about stuff like that as much as some may think… JUST RELEASE THE SHOW PLEASE!!! It will be worth it, regardless of how ecchi the content may be, as long as it’s meaningful to the plot and aids in the depth of the magnificent story line! ;D
u and your friend is right. Make a anime, put 1 sex scene in it and it’s tagged as hentai. Probably even in uncut versions of anime dont usually show the peoples’ lower frontal parts and if they do its either blocked out or nothing there. HOTD is a great anime and the manga is too. All I can say is ‘DONT LIKE IT, DONT WATCH IT!’ Hentai is best defined as TOO MUCH SEX. I believe that any anime can have nudity in them or even 1 sex scene in them just dont over do it__THATS HENTAI! I dout its delay is ecchi anyway… ever seen ‘Ikki Tousen’ ep. 7? literally! No complaints on that. I’m fine with it as long as it doesn’t stray from the main plot (which HOTD doesn’t). I mean common! This is an outbreak! A act of survival! There’s no time thinking’ who should U BANG tonight?!’ when watching HOTD doesn’t it give u the ‘I can see that happening’ feeling? this shows exactly what people would do in a crisis: save their own ass despite the pain of others or suck up their pride and band together to stay alive.

They seriously need to hurry with the 2nd season. Every since I saw Highschool of the Dead I’ve been stuck on Anime. I saw other ones to see if they can compare like action type none wasn’t due with zombie. There was one really good that compared (Sekirei) but it wasn’t like Highschool of the Dead. I just need to see season 2 really bad.
I’m really looking forward for the Season 2. I thought there would be none but here it is. I’m glad that more people came to love it. What I love about the anime series is the characters’ adaptability to the occuring zombie apocalypse. Hope more people would support it so the producers would think this is feasible to be released. I have some intresting information. I dont know is it realy true, but i only can give you some expectesions:
First – Manga is on hiatus because author was making colored version of it and i gathered information that all 7 volumes are done! Both of them english and japanese versions(INFO from amazon, you can buy ‘em there). <–Proofed
Second – Triage X last chapter was posted in 2011, this can mean three things it ended, closed or is on hiatus like HOTD. <–Guessing what i have seen
Third – Knowing that fact that Anime's Season One(12 episodes) was made from 4 volumes of manga(17chapters), even that story line in manga and anime is a little diffrent both ends in same place(When they reach shopping town). Plus adding the facht that there is 7 volumes(29 chapters)i can guess from them they can make.. like 5~8 episodes in my opinion it's too shorth for Anime's Season Two, they need at least 2 more volumes to reach 34-38 chapters(Guess is based on the average nummber of chapters in volume, 4 chapters per volume) <– Guessing using various facts from many websites, comments, etc;
Fourth – Many rumors says that Anime's Season Two comes out this year 2012 <– Many websites, comments, etc;
Fifth – Knowing the fact that they confirmed Season Two in 2011, i can say they had time to work on anime. <–Proofed execpt the fact they worked on it…

I just watched HOTD yesterday and was like ” Omg it’s AMAZING, but it’s only 12 episodes, when i read manga(mangareader.net).I believed that show goes on, but when i saw last chapter was added 2011. I was shocked like that can’t be true!!!. And find out about hiatus and sth like that.So i started looking for something like season 2 and i found out about that anime goes on!( Anime Expo 2011). When reading comments on other sites i got intresting in sth about “FanService” and when i was like “quit your bulls***!!!” violence and ecchi is normal in situation like this. Charachters are 16-18 years old execpt for miss Shizuka, for the group that is fighting for it’s survival, you MUST rely on each other, you MUST give all yourself to protect them and you MUST beliece in them and yourserlf so you can survive, to love each other and get naughty thoughs is NORMAL!! I can say it reflects the teenegers of these days, and those ecchi sceanes are part of the main plot, they gives us a HUGE amount of emotions and captivates us MORE AND MORE! AND TO PUT IT TOGETHER THIS MAKES A PERFECT ANIME! Despite the fact other thinks it’s only FanServices, which attracts us to the show. NOT IT”S NOT AND AGAIN QUIT YOUR DAMN BULLS***!!!

We need to watch for the next manga release for HOTD. It’s been an entire year since chapter 29, which was the last HOTD release.
If there is a new release this year (2012), then that means the HOTD franchise is still alive and has marketing potential.
From what I’ve heard, the authors are on a long indefinite hiatus from HOTD and working on other manga. WHAT THE HELL?! They really need to atleast finish the HOTD story instead of leaving fans hanging on a cliff’s edge. Either way, HOTD is too popular to die out. If the authors are in their right minds, they’ll stop working on Triage X and move back to working on releasing chapter 30 of HOTD.
What we should be looking out for is not a season 2, but a new manga chapter. Because that would be a sign that the franchise is still alive and reawakened from its year long hiatus.
After researching all over the web for evidence of HOTD season 2, I have come to believe that they are in the process of making season 2 as we speak, but there was some mix-up with how intense the ecchi got (i agree with the above comment).
Apparently the manga authors were not happy with the level of ecchi, and the top guns of the japanese broadcasting t.v world agreed that it was bordering hentai (which ofcourse they cannot air). So it’s my guess that they are in the process of fixing that. They better fix it, because mistakes like that could ruin everything (the entire project being shut down).
My question is how they are going to stretch the manga material. There has only been like 5 chapters since the end of the story in season 1. Season 1 worked on like 20+ chapters… how the hell are they going to make another entire season off 5 chapters?
Either way, maybe the anime starts diverging from the manga a little bit?
Bottom line is, the animators confirmed verbally that there will be a second season. There would be hell to pay from fans if they don’t hold that promise, but you never know. The animators of School Rumble has season 3 all scripted and ready, but never released it in its entirety due to project management and budget bullshit.
I pray to God and Allah and many other dieties that HOTD season 2 comes out. It is the ultimate anime for me right now. The emotional and action scenes contrast so well with the comedic ecchi…. and the opening music and lyrics make me cry. Can’t handle all the feelings!
I think that High School of The DEAD 2! is finished! all about filming, dubbing and bla.. bla.. and others , and I read something in an article at the net that the reason why they can’t release it, is due to its genre and they think that the ECCHI became HENTAI and they said that’s its not good.

Manga and anime are different things, manga is written in paper with pictures and words. Anime is animated with voices or subtitles, and from the time you posted this, it was impossible to have read the anime for hotd ova. Simple saying theres a difference.
