It looks like High School of the Dead is going to be on hiatus for a while because Shoji Sato is working on his manga, Triage X. Even so, he said he is also working on the next High School of the Dead manga chapters, as well as researching what new weapons, vehicles, and other mechanics to include in the series. He stated that he wanted to have the same detailed and quality work that he’s had so far, so it will take him some time and asks the fans to be patient.
Another question that was posed to Sato was if all the main characters would survive to the end. He replied that he wasn’t certain if any main characters would die or not, and even though said he hoped the whole group would survive, he also did like the idea of it being asked.
Someone else also asked him if Koichi Shido will cause more trouble, or die soon, in the upcoming chapters. Sato said that he couldn’t answer this question, but he did hope he dies soon because he doesn’t like the character. 
Lastly, someone asked him when he began illustrating mangas as a career path. Sato replied that he became very ill when he was young, so he couldn’t attend regular classes like everyone else and had to stay at home a lot, so he would spend his time drawing instead.
And finally, Sato said that he really liked the character Takashi Komuro because he is well liked by many, but his all time favorite character is Kohta Hirano.

F**k triage x get on with writing highschool if the dead, its a better manga anyway. So just put triage x on hiatus and continue with H.O.T.D.
I’d have to agree I read it and wasn’t so much interested. Then again if I started it like I started H.O.T.D. with the anime my opinion might be changed, but I doubt it.

yea shoji sato put triage x to the side and work on highschool of the dead some more i heard a crap ton of people saying the same thing i just take advice (think of the fans)
this is a fantasy but probabley wouldn’t happen like 5 seasons with 30 episodes in each it would be cool i know theres a 70 percent chance there making a season 2. season 3 after 2 would be awsome does anyone agree. but i did hear that season 2 is supposed to come out some time in september to december 2012. the only flaw with the series is there wasn’t enough episodes!!!!!!!!!!
No one who is working on the manga or the anime has given a date as to when season 2 is coming out. However, there is lots of speculation and rumor. Its best to provide links to backup the “I heard” claims people like to make.

Im also looking forward to a second season. Still no guarantee it will happen but I hope it does. It would probably only be 12 eps again, they would have to release a lot of Manga to cover more episodes.
need more h.o.t.d im addicted great storyline maybe a new character in the series that would be cool and a longer season like 30 episodes that would be badass man lookin forward to season 2 can’t wait almost peeing myself thinking about it π
This is positive news and is at least a step forward. However IMO provided we see more of the manga before the end of this year, it still wont be until 2014+ until we hear anything about more of the Anime.
damnit.. again with fucking Triage X… dude why dont u put THAT on fucking hiatus instead of HOTD? its been gone for a year now. u need to return back to it instead of working on another damn project thats brand new. Put Triage X on fucking Hiatus and let those fans bitch, but for now, WORK ON HOTD!! all fans are fucking flipping tables and shit! comon!! fuck… oh well.. guess we have to wait another fucking year before we even get the slightest news of it coming.. [ right now im losing hope and im pissed about sumthin else so yeah..] fuck, i cant even watch triage X anywhere as far as i know it.
Sato better put Hiatus on Triage X, end it and finish it, or just work on both.. like seriously comon.. HOTD has been gone for so long. MORE HOTD!!
Even though im mad and impatient right now, ill still wait. i got the rest of my life to wait. But so help me God i better not get some news about HOTD is still on Hiatus next year… ima flip tables forreal..
okay calming down a bit lol, yeah pretty quick huh? anyway, okay well yeah to make an amazing anime as HOTD it will need time, i understand that, hell it takes a month to make a chapter of R+V which i love also. Its great to know hes still working on the new chapters after 29, FINALLY and AWESOME!! but thats good in a way that hes working on both, but shit, if he wanted to know more about weapons he might as well ask fans, gamers know alot about guns. But the thing is, isnt Triage X HAVE GUNS in the anime? might as well use that lol. Well, cant wait for Season 2, ill piss my pants when i see a trailer on youtube or the 1st episode releasing and gonna show somewhere :O
Correct me if I’m wrong but currently Triage X is only manga, no anime. And you’re correct it is full of guns. From the looks of it Shoji is a Smith & Wesson fan.
I’m sure Shoji knew he would be asked about HOTD and had planned his response. Interesting reason given for it taking so long. Hoping more of that 30 minute Q&A will be posted.
I realize Shoji Sato was there to promote his works, but I wish someone had asked if more of the story had actually been written or at least outlined. Daisuke Sato is still not off the hook, HOTD is just as much his as Shoji’s.
And yea, its going to be a long time before we see more HOTD anime. But we knew that already. I share in your frustration.
Wait seriously? hmm maybe thats why when i searched for it there wasnt a Triage X for the anime.. damn, but i did see the manga on the site i read for R+V. daamn no anime are u serious? holy shit.. but u know wuts fucked up? i checked, and apparently Triage X is at the same time as HOTD, it was made in 2010 or 09 and stopped at 2011. which again sucks -_- hope he continues HOTD more and well sure Triage X, ill even try it out.. damn need more HOTD
