Late last month in August we started a contest for Highschool of the Dead fans around the world. The contest was called “We Want Highschool of the Dead Season 2 Contest.” This was the first contest that we have held and we thought it was a good way to stir up the fans and followers of the HOTD anime and manga series. We thought it would be a fun way to support the series as well as a way for devoted fans to win some merchandise from their favorite series.
The Contest Results
The contest didn’t go as well as we had hoped; then again, it was the first time we’ve held a contest and maybe we failed to communicate it well enough. For that, we apologize. Regardless, out of the thousands of fans that viewed the contest, one distinct individual was brave enough to record a short Youtube video expressing his love for the series. His name is Nick and he is the winner of our contest! How did Nick win? Well, for starters, he was the only person to actually submit a video! We’re a bit surprised that nobody else entered the contest. Maybe people don’t love Highschool of the Dead anymore, or maybe the wait for season 2 has killed the interest of many fans. Whatever the reason, it is what it is. Aside from that, Nick entered the contest immediately. Within 5 minutes of posting the contest and making it live, he was the first to submit a video! If that’s not true HOTD dedication, we don’t know what is.
With all that said, we congratulate you, Nick, on winning the contest and being a true Highschool of the Dead fan! We hope HOTD season 2 comes out soon because fans like you truly deserve it!

how come in episode 13 “which i think is an ova” says that there’s a second season.
someone please fill me in. I HATE GETTING BLUE BALLED. the series was well thought out,
but it seemed like during the end of what i think is the first season? left so many questions.
I dont know if the producers and creators know this, but this series is gold, and would probably make a killing in sales and ratings if they followed through with more episodes.
And if the writer is feeling unmotivated and feeling like the content is dry then he should merge with another writer or maybe a few in fact because this series is TOO GOOD to let it perish and rot, locked away in a possibility safe.
On youtube the facts are there that this show has over a million viewers. Please don’t let us down.

I absolutely hate DUB’S BTW but, HOTD was an exception among hundreds of anime I have seen , so this and Gurren Lagann are practically the only dubs I have any interest in at all.

I have re-watched this series 12 times DUBBED ( 3 times simultaneously, in 1 day)
I have read the manga 28-30 times can’t remember how many times I’ve gone over some chapters because I wanted to read a scene again and again.
I downloaded all the series onto my IPod touch using Titan player app.
I have seen the anime series as above 12 times but that is specific to dubbed.
Subbed I have watched this series over 20 times.
So does this explain how obsessed I am with this friken series, for F*** sakes, I watched it’s whole series during school on my IPod during an exam (surprisingly passed said exam also, without being reprimanded for cheating or something because I had my iPod and headphones out and on.)
THE SERIES WILL NEVER CONTINUE AD THATS IT!!
What kind of people gives you a glimpse of an amazing anime and just leave their fans hanging come pick up the pace its been forever enough is enough
I’m so obsessed with this anime. Please bring it back, it’s super rad. I’ve been waiting for two years for the second season. It’ll be so disappointing for lots of people if the second season isn’t made ;~;
to the makers on hotd you don’t have enough advertisement as you could but then again moneys short, any way I know thousands of people would have entered that contest I know I would have but I never herd of it did you know there are over 1 million people who have see your show and they all love it make a YouTube account and advertise for free and maybe make some money off it hold fund razors and advertise it through YouTube you’ll make money trust me and if you need advise email me ill work for free. I know a lot of use would.

When I realized that the anime never continued I stayed up for days trying to find hope of it to come back and not just a bund of pranksters saying that it is coming back when it wasn’t when I saw this i gained a lot of hope so i now that the magna will continue so will the anime

I’ve just watched the episode “Drifters of the dead” from the first season…and it left me with the desire to watch the next season. You might know…or do not know but the second season is nowhere to be found and there is an “army” of fans waiting for it!
I can’t say that this is the best serial ever…but is the best that I’ve watched!
It acomplished(from my point of view) the best story line a viewer could have wanted!
I am sorry that I might have wasted your time, but this can hit the top!…Just don’t drop it…Please

NOOOOOO I’m so mad!! I’ve seen hsofthedead before and remember obsessing about it and decided, once I start forgetting some of the plots in the anime, I’ll rewatch it. I just rewatched it and got even MORE OBSESSED!!! IM SO ANGRY NO SECOND SEASON!!! Pleaseeeee keep updating this site, I like breathe hsofthedead! Just finished watching the first season. Dam good stuff so gutted to find out there’s no second season.
i love HOTD and i want another season as well, but, when was the last time this website was updated? am i a little out of date or something? im trying to find the latest news but i cant find crap! was season two released already? if so then i cant find anything on it!
Lol, same here, I just finished watching HOTD for the first time and got really pissed finding out their wasn’t a second season. But back to answering your question, No their is no second season sadly, but supposedly their will be a second season.
