After a long 2 year hiatus, Highschool of the Dead will be returning this Spring, 2013. Fans of the series never gave up hope, and it looks like that hope will finally pay off this year! The return is revealed by these photos of the new publications for the manga’s fifth and sixth volumes which will be in full color. The wrap around band on the manga publications states that it will be returning soon. Another photo shows a full page advertisement saying that the manga is returning Spring 2013. Although currently no return date has been specified, we will keep you informed as new information on the series is revealed. Stay tuned, with the return of the manga, Highschool of the Dead Season 2 of the anime series looks like it may finally return in 2013 as well!

I agree it is February 7,2014 and they said it would be out to the view of the public in spring 2013. I mean REALLY. come on.
Might I ask who you mean by ‘they’? Is the they you are speaking of, the person who runs this ‘unofficial’ web site, the person who errantly (yet intentionally) confused the manga with the anime?
Because the ‘they’ (FujimiShobo) who published that ad in the picture, were specifically and ONLY talking about the manga, and there was a new act released in April, which is Spring 2013.
Any news on the current status of the HOTD Season 2 ?
I hope the second season (anime) comes out very soon because the manga came out in Spring 2013 and its Febuary 2014 were is it. I also don’t know who Takashi should end up with as his girlfriend. They’ll probably make it Saeko because most people want that and it appears like that because when they ran away they kinda loved eatch other and when hes with Rei they usually argue. And plus in the OVA he imagined having sex with her so it is probably Saeko. My favorite character is Hamato though because hes a nerd and holds back like me. Pleas have the anime second season by Easter or I will die!!!!

Rei rejected Takashi for Hisashi.
Rei is so annoying! I just hate how she’s always complaining; Takashi this, Takashi that. Saeko is way better for him.
Rei is just using Takashi as a replament for her dead boyfriend.
