Late last month in August we started a contest for Highschool of the Dead fans around the world. The contest was called “We Want Highschool of the Dead Season 2 Contest.” This was the first contest that we have held and we thought it was a good way to stir up the fans and followers of the HOTD anime and manga series. We thought it would be a fun way to support the series as well as a way for devoted fans to win some merchandise from their favorite series.
The Contest Results
The contest didn’t go as well as we had hoped; then again, it was the first time we’ve held a contest and maybe we failed to communicate it well enough. For that, we apologize. Regardless, out of the thousands of fans that viewed the contest, one distinct individual was brave enough to record a short Youtube video expressing his love for the series. His name is Nick and he is the winner of our contest! How did Nick win? Well, for starters, he was the only person to actually submit a video! We’re a bit surprised that nobody else entered the contest. Maybe people don’t love Highschool of the Dead anymore, or maybe the wait for season 2 has killed the interest of many fans. Whatever the reason, it is what it is. Aside from that, Nick entered the contest immediately. Within 5 minutes of posting the contest and making it live, he was the first to submit a video! If that’s not true HOTD dedication, we don’t know what is.
With all that said, we congratulate you, Nick, on winning the contest and being a true Highschool of the Dead fan! We hope HOTD season 2 comes out soon because fans like you truly deserve it!

Although this contest didn’t go as well as we expected, we still plan to hold other contests in the future, so be on a look out for those and chances to win more Highschool of the Dead merchandise! i hope highschool of the dead season 2 comes out we been waiting for 2 years plz come out plz
Words can not express how much love I have for this anime, when the first season finished I was so anxious to watch season 2, and almost everyday I check and see if any news come out about the release of highschool of the dead season 2. Please release highschool of the dead season 2 out soon. I’m sure thousand of fans are waiting especially me.
lack of communication indeed, first time ever that I heard of this contest… HOTD changed my life, and I’m not just saying that, before this I stayed away from everything scary, like horror or zombie themed series/movies, which kind of made me an outsider in my group of friends who’s cinema visits were mostly that genre, now I go with them ^^ (sometimes), but also made me cope with the many nightmares I have each night, making them less scary, since the lesson I learned from this serie was to face your fears and overcome them (and I realize this sounds so cliché) and I’m thankfull for that… I enjoyed season 1’s story, the characters (it is the first serie where I don’t have 1 favourite in particular)… so about season 2: Bring it on, I am waiting!
Out of the loop fans are probably waiting on word from their hardcore fan friends.
I loved the first season and I agree with the fact that there was probably a lack of communication of the event i never heard of it until today personally but…fans and followers are here I know many of my friends and myself who were only waiting for someone to confirm a 2nd season we were really happy to learn about one and are waiting for it! 😉
Season 2 has been announced by the creaters of the anime, but we still don’t have confirmation when it will be released, they said ” spring ” but I think they’re a bit late, don’tcha think?
I love this series, please hurry up and release the second season october is nearly here.
I am a super huge fan of HOTD. All the way. Okay , I would consider myself the biggest fan.. but I havent even read all of the manga, for the purpose that more chapters will be released. Highschool of the dead is by far my most favorite and iMO the best Anime ever. In the first few seconds of the Anime while Takashi was talking about how he stayed up late as the world came to an end, I was already hooked. Then the rest of the scene comes up and then the opening :O HOTD is a one of a kind anime with basically everything I want in an anime. By far the best and deserves more attention than it does. LOVE Highschool of the dead. ( screw it ,I will begin reading the manga once again) I wish it can have more.. HOTD has so much to offer than alot of other Anime
dude you and me both im obssessed with the show and its killing me inside waiting for season 2 but i always still have my season 1 of high school of the dead, keep on supporting please cuz ill never leave my true love for this show
i really hope this season 2 comes out cause hotd is my favourite anime of all time ik its just one season but it was so great i think i prefer to watch it more than naruto or dragon ballz these anime are good but hotd just got me hooked and i don’t want to be un hooked until the anime ends so i am saying this give us hotd cause we been w8ing a long time not next year but this year i am speaking for all the hotd fans in the world who did not see this message.
